WA STEM Connect

Scitech’s bi-annual program for STEM professionals, with a travel grant for regional and remote attendees at the Better Together event.

WA STEM Connect brings together STEM engagement and outreach professionals to share knowledge, collaborate, and strengthen the WA STEM ecosystem. The events feature talks, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to support professional development and build lasting connections.

The Better Together event is one of the highlights of the year, focused on collaboration across STEM organisations and professionals in Western Australia.

WA STEM Connect travel grant

Regional and remote STEM professionals can apply for the WA STEM Connect Travel Grant, which provides up to $1,000 to attend and present at the Better Together event on 26 March 2026.

Funding can cover:

  • Flights, petrol, or other travel costs

  • Accommodation

  • Other reasonable expenses related to attending

 

Why apply?

  • Share your work with the WA STEM community

  • Build professional connections

  • Gain visibility for your organisation or projects

  • Participate in networking and collaboration opportunities

 

Grant payment:

  • 50% upfront to help cover initial travel costs

  • Remaining 50% after receipts and feedback are submitted

 

Application essentials:

  • Present a brief overview of your work

  • Explain professional benefits of attending

  • Describe how your participation strengthens WA STEM connections

  • Outline key messages for other STEM professionals

  • Submit a budget request up to $1,000

 

Applications are open until funds are exhausted.
