National Science week
Community Grant

National Science Week is Australia's annual celebration of STEM.

Grants are made available to remote Indigenous schools wishing to run a community STEM event in National Science Week 2023.

In 2022 a pilot grant round was delivered with four remote schools. Each school was provided $500 to run an event for their community.

Ngalapita RCS took their students to the local recycling facility. The students then created an educational video on how to recycle in the community. They held a film night at the school, 40 community members attended to watch the educational rap video. You can watch the video below.

In 2023 the WA Coordinating Committee will once again offer Community grants to support STEM based events in Indigenous communities. The committee will look to offer STEM packs and cash grants to support these events.

If you are a community school or organisation operating in and for a remote community and are looking to host a National Science Week event in 2023, please contact wainspiringaustralia@scitech.org.au

Inspiring WA acknowledges the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation as the Custodians of the land on which this program operates. We pay our respects to Noongar Elders and honour their deep connection to Boodja, celebrating their enduring knowledge as scientists and innovators
